[0-385-03787-2] [circa 1976]. (hardcover) Very good in good dust jacket. 688pp. Book Club Edition. 8vo. Three-quarter bound in plain brown paper over boards, smooth stippled-fabricoid backstrip; lettering in gold to spine. Dust jacket worn; chipping to extremities, small closed tears, age-toned; front-flap price clipped. Small toned square at top corner of ffep from previously removed sticker. Else internally fine; tight, bright, and clean. The points for this Book Club printing are subtle and, as such, it is commonly mistaken as a 1st / 1st (especially when the dust jacket has been conspicuously clipped). This printing is slightly shorter than the trade 1st / 1st. It lacks a footband, but has a headband. This printing does NOT have "Book Club Edition" or the like printed on the dust jacket; it does not have a small blindstamp at the bottom corner of the rear board; it does not have a denotation on the copyright page; it does not have a series of numbers and / or letters printed in the inner margin of a rear leaf.
